One of the close confidants and advisors of Telecom Minister Mr. A. Raja died today in a suspicious way. Sadiq Batch was shifted to a nearby hospital today at around 1: 30 pm where doctors pronounced him dead. The doctors of Apollo hospital said that he had already been dead before reaching hospital. The family of the victim says he committed suicide while the police say they are doing investigation and anything in this regard will be said after the investigation is completed.

The body of the victim has been sent for autopsy and anything about the cause of death will be said afterwards. T. Rajendran, Chennai Police Commissioner, said that the case was under investigation and they could not say anything on it right now. He further said that the police would try to locate if there was any foul play involved in this case. The police say that the autopsy of 47-year-old victim would be held at a government hospital.

Batcha has been the Managing Director of Greenhouse Promoters, a firm which works under the headship of CBI and Enforcement Directorate. There were reports that last year, both of these parenting agencies investigated him for his relations with the former minister. Batcha was the owner of various firms and the officials think the firms could have acted as front man in the 2G scam. Shahid Balwa is another character in 2G scam who is currently under arrest at Tihar Jail. He told investigators during the investigation that he knew Batch for past few years.
