Gustave is the name a massive crocodile. Gustave is a Nile crocodile, in Burundi. He is supposed to be the Africa’s largest crocodile. Its length is estimated to be 6.7 meters or 22 ft. It weighs around 1.3 tons which proved it to be an enormous animal. Gustave crocodile is a dangerous crocodile as about 300 victims have been rumored to be disappeared from the from the northern shores of Lake Tanganyika and also from the banks of the Ruzizi River. People that used to live in the same region are very much afraid of Gustave. He is best known to hunt and usually he did not eat the corpses of the victims.

The name “Gustave”, was given to this huge crocodile by Patrice Faye. Faye is a French resident of Burundi and since 1998, he has been pursuing the crocodile. In 2002, Faye and a documentary team tried to capture this great crocodile, but they couldn’t do so and also got taunted by Gustave in reply. That documentary was aired on PBS in May 2004, and the titled of this documentary was “Capturing the Killer Croc”.

On the base of his size, Gusatve is estimated to be 65 years old, which is 20 tears more than the average age for an adult male Nile crocodile, which is 45 years. He was sighted in February 2008 for the last time, according to the National Geographic sources.

Though its length is 22 ft, but he is not the largest crocodile on earth. A 7 m or 23 ft long individual crocodile have been seen in eastern India and the Guinness Book of World Records has confirmed as well.

Gustave is also known for four distinct bullet scars, three on his right side and a single on his head, that cover his body.
