The infant who was abducted some 23 years ago met parents again on Thursday. Nejdra Nance is a young girl of 23 who is also mother of a little daughter of 5 years but this girl was stolen from the hospital by an unidentified woman when she was just 19 days old. Her true parents, Joy White and Carl Tyson, admitted their daughter, Carlina White, at Harlem Hospital after she had a high fever and they left hospital that night. Next morning, when the parents arrived, they saw their daughter was missing and the hospital management had no clue where the child had been gone. The parents said they were suspicious about a lady who was working there being a nurse but she was not seen in the hospital afterward.
The years continue passing but the parents did not loose courage and remained hopeful that one day they would definitely meet their daughter. During all these years, Carlina White remained bringing up as Nejdra Nance in Bridgeport, Connecticut but she was not confirmed if she was the real daughter of, Ann Pettway, the woman with whom she was living because she looked very different from her moreover the lady was also unable to show her birth certificate.
It was the Nance herself who searched her true parents through the website of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. She used visiting the site periodically and watched the photos of the missing children uploaded by the parents. One day she was seeing the photos of the New York missing children and there she saw a photo which put her on query because the child in the photo resembled her too much. She contacted the site officials who contacted Joy White. Both talked each other and shared photos and eventually it turned out through DNA tests that Nejdra Nance was actually Carlina White who had been abducted from hospital back in 1987.
