After being together for 13 years, rock duo ‘The White Stripes’ decided to part their ways to start a new journey individually. The rock duo that also has honor of winning the Grammy award released a statement together in which they informed that they had decided to go on their separate ways. It was mutual decision done by both Meg and Jack who said that they would remain close to their fans even after the group’s separation. They believe the fans would understand them and respect their decision.

They seek pardon from all those fans who got shock hearing that news. The band however did not disclose on what grounds they had decided to split the band. No further recordings and live performances will be made under the same duo name after this official announcement. The duo was formed back in 1997 by Jack White and Meg White, the ex-wife and drummer. Jack White was the lead vocalist and songwriter for the duo. They rose to fame after the release of their first music album which created much buzz. The Detroit-based band started being considering one of the most important and famous rock bands in 2001 after they released their third album White Blood Cells.

White Stripes Break Up

In the year 2007, they released another album “Icky Thump” which was also a big hit. A clash was created in the relationship of the duo when lead singer expressed his thoughts that he wanted to do something else besides being the vocalist of the duo and world saw that after that he worked as a soloist and producer. He also created two of other bands under names The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather.
